Aram Barsamian, baritone, last appeared with Opera San Luis Obispo in the 2007 production of Tosca. He has also appeared with Opera San Luis Obispo as Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte in 2002, and as Belcore in Elixir of Love in 1997. Mr. Barsamian has appeared in several benefit concerts for Opera San Luis Obispo, including "Baroque Opera at Chapel Hill" and "Opera Gala at the Mission." In 2003, he debuted at Walnut Creek's Festival Opera as Gregorio in Romeo et Juliette after singing the role of Paris in the same opera at Sacramento Opera earlier in the season. In November he returned to Sacramento as Dandini in La Cenerentola, marking his twelfth production with that company. In previous seasons at Sacramento, he has appeared in La Traviata, Faust, Gianni Schicchi, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, The Merry Widow, Tosca, Carmen, Rigoletto and the Tales of Hoffmann, following his debut there as Schaunard in La bohème. An alumnus of the Music Academy of the West, Mr. Barsamian trained at San Francisco Opera's Merola Program, where he first sang the role of Dandini. A native of Bulgaria, he received his training at Cal State University, Fullerton, and USC. He is a two-time district winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. |

Christopher Bengochea, tenor, sang the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Opera San Luis Obispo's 2007 Tosca. His West Bay Opera debut (Palo Alto) as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, and his Townsend Opera (Modesto) debut as Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana. After he became an award-winner at the Northwest Regional Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions and winning 3rd prize at the International Societa Concertistica vocal competition in Santa Margherita-Ligure, Italy, it was obvious that opera was not only Bengochea's passion, but also his future profession. Mr. Bengochea was resident artist at Opera San Jose in 2008. During the 2003 season, he appeared with the Intermountain Opera Association of his native Montana as Il Messegere in Aida, with the Opera Company of Brooklyn as Ruggero in La Rondine, and with Rimrock Opera as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. He finished the season as Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors with the Grace Church Society. During the remainder of the 2004-05 season, Mr. Bengochea sang the roles of Alfredo in La Traviata and the title roles in Ernani and Don Carlo. |

John Bischoff, bass, debuted with Opera San Luis Obispo singing Zuniga in Carmen. John also has sung roles with opera companies in Sarasota, Des Moines, and Dayton and participated in the Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice Program for Singers. In addition to opera, John has been privileged to perform with some of the country's finest choral groups. He recently spent three years touring worldwide with the renowned men's vocal ensemble Chanticleer. John also sings with the American Bach Soloists, the Philharmonica Baroque Chorale, the San Francisco Symphony Chorus and the new Bay Area vocal group Clerestory. John received a Master's degree in voice from the Manhattan School of Music and graduated with honors from Princeton University with a Bachelor's degree in English and American Studies. Before pursuing a career in music, John taught English in Guangzhou, China, and worked as a journalist for Minnesota Public Radio, producing programs for regional and national broadcast and using his voice in a different capacity—as newscaster, reporter and host. |

Torlef Borsting, baritone. Mr. Borsting's 2007-2008 season included his creation of Wilmer McLean in the world premiere of Appomattox by Philip Glass at San Francisco Opera. He then portrayed Sgt. Belcore (Elixir of Love) with Berkeley Opera, made his debut as Prince Yamadori (Madama Butterfly) with Martinez Opera, Sharpless (Butterfly) with Capitol Opera in Davis, then as Henry (The Gift of the Magi) and Melchior (Amahl and the Night Visitors) with Trinity Lyric Opera. The 2006-2007 season saw Mr. Borsting's debut with San Francisco Opera as a Soldier in The Maid of Orleans, his debut with Berkeley Opera as Jack Rance (La Fanciulla del West), as Streshniev in Khovanshchina with Kent Nagano, a concert production of Kurt Weill's Seven Deadly Sins with Symphony Parnassus, Prince Yeletsky in the Queen of Spades with West Bay Opera, and the roles of the Captain and Zaretsky in North Bay Opera's production of Eugene Onegin. Previous seasons have included productions of Simon Boccanegra, Idomeneo, Boris Godunov, La Traviata, Carmen, Un Ballo in Maschera, Samson and Delilah, Macbeth, Tannhauser, and HMS Pinafore. |

Douglas Botnick has a wide ranging repertoire, including Rodrigo in Don Carlo, di Luna in Il Trovatore, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Riccardo in I Puritani, plus roles such as Tonio in Pagliacci, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Gerard in Andrea Chénier, Wolfram in Tannhäuser, Donner and Gunther in Der Ring des Nibelungen and Tabor in The Ballad of Baby Doe, among many others. Mr. Botnick's solo concert repertoire includes works for orchestra and chorus by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Handel, Mahler, Ravel, and R. Strauss, as well as songs by Rogers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Porter, Sondheim, Webber, and John Williams. Mr. Botnick was a prize winner in the San Francisco Opera National Auditions and member of the San Francisco Opera Merola Program. In addition, he was an apprentice with Santa Fe Opera. He was also a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. |

Vincent Chambers, tenor. A native of San Francisco, Mr. Chambers made his debut with West Bay Opera, singing both Canio and Turiddu in Pagliacci and Cavelleria Rusticana respectively. He then performed Rodolfo in Puccini's La bohème with San Francisco Lyric Opera, and returned to West Bay Opera to perform Eric in Wagner's Flying Dutchman this past May. Previous performances include Rodrigo in Verdi's Otello with The Westfield (NJ) Symphony, and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with Nevada Opera Theater. He also created the role of Ragnar Brovik in a new opera by Martin Halperin at the Theater for the New City in New York called The Scaffolding, as well as Sheldon in a new opera written by Michael Sahl called Dinner and Delusion performed at Symphony Space in NYC, and again at NYU's Skirball Center for New York City Opera's VOX New Opera series. Operatic credits in the New York area include Rodolfo in La bohème, the title role in Tales of Hoffman, Nemorino in L'Elisir d'Amore, Alfredo in La Traviata, The Duke in Rigoletto, and Beppe in Pagliacci with regional companies, including DiCapo Opera of New York, Amato Opera Theater, Rutgers University and The Opera Company of New Jersey. Stephanie Cook, soprano. Lyric soprano Stephanie Cook made her Opera San Luis Obispo debut as Musetta in La bohème. Ms. Cook recently debuted with Livermore Valley Opera as Rosalinde in the company's March 2010 production of Die Fledermaus, a role she reprised after first performing in Townsend Opera Player's 2007 production. She has performed with Fresno Grand Opera for the past five seasons in both main stage productions, as well as their annual Christmas on Van Ness and Opera on Van Ness concerts in which she is a featured soloist. Most recently she performed the role of Kate Pinkerton in the company's anniversary production of Madama Butterfly. Next she returns to Fresno Grand Opera in Macbeth for their co-production with Opera Santa Barbara. An alumnus of The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she currently makes her home in Clovis, California. |

Caprice Corona came to Opera San Luis Obispo for the first time as Donna Anna in our production of Don Giovanni. She has received honors and awards throughout the United States, from organizations such as the Metropolitan National Opera Council Auditions, Elanor Lieber Awards (Portland Opera), National Opera Association, Palm Beach Opera and Fort Worth Opera, among others. In 2002, she made her professional debut as Helena in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream with Central City Opera, sharing the role with noted American soprano Sylvia McNair. As an Apprentice Artist with The Santa Fe Opera in 2001, she understudied Alice Ford in Falstaff and performed the Governess in excerpts from Britten's The Turn of the Screw. Other operatic roles include the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte, Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, and Prima Donna/Corilla in Viva la Mamma! , Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel with Commonwealth Opera, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with Raylynmoor Opera, and Donna Elvira in Amarillo Opera's Don Giovanni. A native of Sacramento California, Ms. Corona graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Anthropology and received two Master of Music degrees from the New England Conservatory in 2001. |

Meghan Dibble, mezzo soprano. Meghan is a southern California native who now lives in San Francisco Bay Area. Among her roles are Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Mrs. Page (The Merry Wives of Windsor), the Governess (The Queen of Spades), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Marcellina and Cherubine (Le nozze di Figaro), Fidalma (Il matrimonio segreto), Siebel (Faust), and Mercedes (Carmen). Ms. Dibble has performed with West Bay Opera, Pocket Opera, Garden State Opera, New York City Fringe Festival, Opera Company of Brooklyn, Rimrock Opera and more. Edith Dowd is a native of Tennessee, who received her Master of Music at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. In July 2003, she made her debut in Germany performing at the acclaimed Opera Gala of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. Previous engagements with the New York City Opera include Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Rossini's Ermione, productions of Daphne, La Traviata and Haroun and the Sea of Stories as well as the title role in Carmen at the Belleayre Music Festival. Ms. Dowd gave her first performance of Maddelena in Verdi's Rigoletto with The American Opera Theatre at the National Theater in Taipei, Taiwan, in the summer of 2001. Ms. Dowd was a Santa Fe Opera apprentice in 1999 and 2000, featured in Richard Strauss' Elektra. She was invited to return to Santa Fe to perform as Lucy Lockit in John Gay's Beggar's Opera. Other roles include Juno in Handel's Semele at the Spoleto (Italy) Festival and Madame Flora in an Italian translation of Menotti's The Medium ("La Mediu") directed by the composer in Palermo, Italy. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Ms. Dowd sang with Pocket Opera in its productions of Handel's Alcina, Rinaldo and Xerxes as well as with Berkeley Opera in a production of Dvorak's Rusalka. |

Georgia Duan, soprano. Soprano Georgia Duan is a rising talent in the San Francisco Bay Area with a keen interest in the Italian and Austrian operatic styles. She made her debut this summer in Germany as the Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte) with the Mittelsächsisches Theater Freiberg. Last season, she sang Mabel (Pirates of Penzance) with Opera San Luis Obispo and Zerbinetta in the West Coast premiere of the original 1912 version of Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos. Georgia has performed roles in the traditional operatic vein, including Miss Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor), Gretel (Hänsel and Gretel) and Bastienne (Bastien and Bastienne). Yet she also enjoys twentieth-century American opera and has sung John Duke's Pernille/Captain Lovelock (Captain Lovelock) and Paul Siskind's Nora (The Sailor-Boy and the Falcon). Georgia received her Master's degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Jane Randolph. She holds a B.A. in Italian and Music with Distinction from Stanford University. |

Karen Dunn, mezzo-soprano, attended San Jose State University and spent two seasons with Opera San Jose as an Associate Artist-in-Residence, appearing in productions of The Barber of Seville, La bohème, Die Zauberflöte, Gianni Schicci, Tartuffe and Il Tabarro. She has also sung many seasons with Opera San Luis Obispo, performing such roles as Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, and The Child in L'Enfant et les Sortiléges. Mathew Edwardsen hails from Indianapolis, Indiana. Mathew has now performed many of opera's most beloved leading tenor roles, such as Don Jose, Rodolfo, Pinkerton, Nemorino and Alfred. He was a district winner and received an Encouragement Award for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. He was also chosen for the Apprentice Program with Santa Fe Opera and the Gerdine Young Artist program at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis. Mathew currently resides in Los Angeles. |

Rory Fratkin, baritone. Mr. Fratkin is from Half Moon Bay, CA, and is a fourth year Music major at Cal Poly State University. Mr. Fratkin first sang with PRO in our May "Spring in Cambria" concert. Mr. Fratkin's roles include Frank (Die Fledermaus) and Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro) with the Cal Poly Opera Workshop and Man 2 (Songs for a New World), sung with the Cal Poly Theatre & Dance Department. Mr. Fratkin was recently awarded the Barbara M. Jones Music Scholarship for 2009–2010. Fratkin is currently considering his postgraduate goals, which include a master's degree in music or enrolling in a musical theatre performance program. |

Brian Frutiger, tenor, made his Opera San Luis Obispo debut as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. Most recently, he appeared with California Chamber Opera in the world premiere of the revised score of Emperor Norton (Michael) with composer Henry Mollicone conducting. His past season credits also include his San Francisco Symphony debut as Der Jüngling in Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri; Don Ottavio with Sacramento Opera; Tenor soloist in Mozart's Coronation Mass in C Major with Fresno Philharmonic; Midas (The Lovely Galatea) with Martinez Opera; Mr. Splinters (the Tender Land) with Opera Omaha; and his European debut as Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) with the Thessaloniki Concert Hall in Greece. A graduate of San Francisco Opera's Merola Opera Program, Mr. Frutiger has appeared in several productions with the San Francisco Opera Center and has sung principal roles with several companies across the United States including Sarasota Opera, Connecticut Opera, Opera Memphis and Festival Opera in Walnut Creek. A native Kansan, Mr. Frutiger won a Kansas Cultural Trust Enabling Grant, 2nd Place at the Heinz Rehfuss Singing Actor Awards (Sponsored by Orlando Opera), and is a District winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. Lori Ann Fuller has traveled and performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe, working with numerous opera companies and symphonies including Lyric Opera of Chicago, BBC Symphony Orchestra, l'opera piccolo (Chicago), Pine Mountain Music Festival, Daytona Beach Symphony Orchestra, and Centro Studi Italiani. Her stage credits include Rose/Street Scene, Gilda/Rigoletto, Zorika/Gypsy Love, Lauretta/Gianni Schicchi, Angela/Firebrand of Florence, Adina/L'elisir d'amore, Marian/The Music Man, and Mabel/Pirates of Penzance. She is equally at home on the concert, recital and cabaret stages, with one such performance released on CD - Kurt Weill's Firebrand of Florence, recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She has been recognized by numerous vocal competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National council, Palm Beach Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Mobile Opera and Shreveport Opera. In addition to performing, Ms. Fuller has a demanding teaching schedule. Her students perform in musical theater and opera venues throughout the world. Currently, she teaches voice at Los Angeles City College and Act Hollywood/Theatre of Arts. |

Sonia Gariaeff, mezzo soprano. Of Russian descent, Sonia Gariaeff is originally from Gilroy, CA. Recent appearances have included Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette with Opera San José, La Cenerentola with Fresno Grand Opera, soloist in the world premiere of Thea Musgrave's Voices for Peace in New York City, Preziosilla in Verdi's La Forza del Destino with Da Corneto Opera in Chicago, and Zita and the Mistress of Novices in Il Tabarro and Suor Angelica with the Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis. Ms. Gariaeff has garnered major recognition in many prestigious vocal competitions including Grand Prize in the Carmel Music Society Vocal Competition, National Grand Finalist in the Loren L. Zachary Competition (2002 and 2004) district finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Awards (2000, 2003 and 2004) and Resident Artist with the San Francisco Opera Center in 2005 and 2006 season. She was also awarded the Virginia Best Adams Fellowship, through which she has performed with the Carmel Bach Festival. She received her Master's degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and her Bachelor's degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz. |

Roberto Perlas Gomez has a busy performing schedule. A resident artist for one season at Opera San José, he sang the roles of Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, baritone lead of Drosselmeire in the world premiere of Tale of the Nutcraker, Escamillo in Carmen, and as the elder Germont in La Traviata. He reprised the role of Germont at the Mendocino Festival in July 2000 and performed with Los Angeles Opera in the roles of Lorek in Fedora (with Placido Domingo) and Benoit/Alcindoro in the company's student matinees of La bohème. Mr. Gomez performed regularly with San Diego Opera where he has appeared in Turandot and Carmen, as well as Tosca, Rusalka, Madama Butterfly and Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Among his many appearances in Southern California are Scarpia in Tosca for the L.A. Music Theater Company, and Silvio in Pagliacci at the Redlands bowl. He sang the role of Frank in Sacramento Opera's Die Fledermaus, and portrayed Marcello in La bohème with the Shanghai Opera. |

William Gorton, Honga in our 2004 production of Blakeslee's Red Cloud, has performed extensively in venues on the west coast and around the US and Europe. Mr. Gorton has appeared with Opera Pacific, Festival Opera, Sacramento Opera, Rogue Opera, Opera San Luis Obispo, Orchestra X of Houston, the Stockton Symphony, the Opera Center of the San Francisco Opera (among others) and has recorded with the Russian National Orchestra. Mr. Gorton's repertoire includes many well-known tenor roles, from Tonio in La Filled u Regiment, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor and the Duke in Rigoletto to Rodolfo in La bohème, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Don José in Carmen. Mr. Gorton sang the role of Don José in Carmen with Stockton Opera and the Bear Valley Music Festival, and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Bay Shore Lyric Opera. Ross Halper, director and tenor. With a repertoire of 200 roles, Mr. Halper has sung under solo contracts with San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, San Jose Symphony, Long Beach Opera, San Jose Opera, Carmel Bach Festival, Eugene Opera, Festival Opera, Sacramento Opera, Berkeley Symphony and many, many others. Among his favorite roles are both the Rheingold and Siegfried Mime, Mr. Owen in Postcard From Morocco, the Witch in Hansel, Vasek in Bartered Bride, Albert Herring, Szupan in Gypsy Baron, Herod in Salome, Basilio, Jacquino in Fidelio, the Steersman in Flying Dutchman and the Magician in The Consul. Besides serving 15 years as director in residence at North Bay Opera in Fairfield, CA, he has served as stage director with Eugene Opera, Opera Idaho, and other companies. Tihana Herceg, Harpstinah in our production of Blakeslee's Red Cloud, is nationally renowned in her native Croatia. She studied at Fran Lhotka Music School in Sisak and graduated from the Music Academy of Zagreb, Croatia. She made her Croatian National Theatre debut as Cherubino in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Ms. Herceg came to the United states in 1993 for the Summer Vocal Institute at UCSB. She made her American debut as Mercedes in Bizet's Carmen at Opera Illinois. Following this, she made her debut at Opera Santa Barbara as Prince Orlofsky in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, and the next season as Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. Ms. Herceg was a resident artist with the L.A. Opera, singing roles such as Dorotea in Verdi's Stiffelio, Zulma in Rossini's Italiana in Algeri, Suzuki in Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Rosina in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In Santa Barbara she performed the title role in Bizet's Carmen, Lola in Mascagni'sCavalleria Rusticana, and Charlotte in the UCSB production of Massenet's Werther. Katelyn Holliday, soprano. Ms. Holliday is a San Luis Obispo native, and has been singing with Pacific Repertory Opera since her first years as a member of PRO's annual summer Opera Day Camp. Her vocal talents and continued training enabled her to move on to becoming a member of PRO Opera Chorus while still at Mission High School. She is now a freshman at Cal Poly State University, and studies with Jackie Kreitzer of Cal Poly's Opera Workshop. Ms. Holliday is the winner of the 2008 Pacific Repertory Opera Vocal Scholarship Competition, High School Division. Ms. Holliday has appeared in many PRO productions, including Don Giovanni (2005), La Traviata (2007), Carmen (2008), Le nozze di Figaro (2008) and Madama Butterfly (2009). |

Zeffin Quinn Hollis has sung a wide spectrum of roles, from villains Méphistophélés in Faust, and Sweeney Todd in The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, to the jovial Figaro in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Escamillo in Carmen, and Marcello in La bohème. Mr. Hollis has appeared at many of the country's major opera houses including the Santa Fe Opera, Opera Pacific, Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, El Paso Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Opera Delaware, Opera Providence, Toledo Opera, New Orleans Opera Association, Wichita Grand Opera and the Fresno Grand Opera. As a young artist, he was a member of the Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice Artist Program for Singers during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. He was also a Metropolitan Opera National Council Western Regional Finalist in 2000 and a Midwest Regional Finalist in 2002. He was a Grand Finals Winner in the 2004 Loren L. Zachary Competition and also received the distinguished European Audition Tour Award. Mr. Hollis currently resides in New York. |

Catherine Ireland, who sang Donna Elvira in our production of Don Giovanni, has performed many roles with the Los Angeles Opera, including Fraquita in Carmen, the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel and Annina in La Traviata. With the San Diego Opera, Ms. Ireland sang Barbarina and covered Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. She made her Opera San Luis Obispo debut as Musetta in 1997's La bohème. Ms. Ireland was a resident artist with both the San Diego Opera and The Los Angeles Opera, and received the prestigious Royal Opera House Covent Garden/Shell scholarship to study at the National Opera Studio in London. Ms. Ireland's voice can be heard behind the US national television commercials for Skytel Pagers and Volvo automobiles. |

Nouné Karapetian, soprano, has been marked by critical praise. Jeff Rapsis of Hippopress, NH wrote of her Nedda with Granite State Opera "Soprano Nouné Karapetian was a standout, throwing herself into the role of Nedda and making the most of a bright, rich, warm voice that somehow seemed vulnerable and powerful at the same time". She has been a national finalist in the Liederkranz Competition, National Opera Association Vocal Competition and regional finalist in Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Her recent performances include the role of Nedda in I Pagliacci with Granite State Opera, a concert with FACE Symphony Orchestra in Montreal, Canada, the title role of Suor Angelica with Opera Providence and Gianetta in Elisir D'Amore with the Granite State Opera. Julia Kierstine, soprano, will be remembered as Flora in Opera San Luis Obispo's 2005 production of Tosca, and Cio-Cio San in Opera San Luis Obispo's 1998 production of Madama Butterfly. Additional opera credits include Leonore in Fidelio and Mimi in La bohème with the Chatanooga Symphony and Opera. Other favorite roles are Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and Minnie in La Fanciulla del West. With a particular emphasis and interest in the Verdi repertoire, Miss Kierstine has been heard as Violetta (La Traviata), Leonora (Il Trovatore) and Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), as well as in numerous performances of the Verdi Requiem. Performance venues include Opera Santa Barbara, Opera San Jose, the Music Festivals of Aspen and Tanglewood, and the opera companies of Utah, Kansas City and Delaware. Miss Kierstine is a past National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera auditions, and has three times been awarded Metropolitan Opera Study Grants. In addition, she is a past First Place Winner of the Center for Contemporary Opera International Vocal Competition, under whose aegis she made her New York debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. |

The young American mezzo-soprano Sarah Kleeman is rapidly becoming known for her beautiful voice, intelligent musicianship, and spirited stage portrayals. San Francisco Classical Voice has hailed her "ringing, assertive and luxuriant tone". In the 2003-2004 season she was a Resident Artist with Pittsburgh Opera, where her roles included Penelope in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria, and Mercedes in Carmen. In summer of 2004 she sang Siebel in Faust with Chautauqua Opera. She repeated that role in 2005 in her return to Pittsburgh Opera. This summer Ms. Kleeman made her Central City Opera debut as Dorothee in Massenet's Cendrillon. Ms. Kleeman has performed Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte with the San Francisco Opera Merola Program, Clotilde in Norma with Seattle Opera, Eduige in Rodelinda with Music Academy of the West and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel with Guild Opera of Los Angeles. With the Seattle Opera Young Artist Program she has performed Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Second Lady in The Magic Flute. Other roles she has performed on stage include the title role in L'incoronazione di Poppea, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti. Shoghig Koushakjian, mezzo soprano, has been singled out for her rich colored voice that caresses the innermost feelings of the listener. Singing under the baton of prominent conductors and directors, Ms. Koushakjian, has earned opera credits including Maddalena and Giovanna Rigoletto, Third Lady in Magic Flute, Madrigal Singer in Manon Lescaut, Annina in La Traviata, Unulfo in Rodelinda Larina in Eugene Onegin, Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel and the title role in Carmen. Ms Koushakjian's Armenian operatic debut was in singing the role of Soussan, and her debut with LA Philharmonic was in Hollywood Bowl, singing the role of Flosshilde, in concert performance of Wagnermmerung. Ms. Koushakjian has been featured in numerous master classes with renowned artists, and with a number of awards and distinctions. A graduate of the University California at Irvine. Carol Ann Manzi, soprano. Ms. Manzi's roles include the title role in Tosca, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, the title role in Carmen, the roles of Mimi and Musetta in La bohème, Violetta in La Traviata, and many more. She has performed with Sarasota Opera, The Connecticut Opera, Eugene Opera, Opera Theatre of Connecticut, Opera Santa Barbara and others. Manzi's concert appearances include the Toledo Opera, Opera Maine, Connecticut Opera, Sarasota Opera, Eugene Opera and The Tanglewood Festival, singing a wide repertoire that spans from the classical song to Sondheim and numerous symphonies. A breast cancer survivor diagnosed at age 34, Ms. Manzi uses her talents in support of many organizations, and has been keynote speaker at conferences International Komen, ACS, Rotarian, and others. She has spoken at the Soroptomist International West Coast Conference in Los Angeles, National Cure Magazine Conferences in Dallas, San Diego and Washington, D.C, as well as volunteering for a number of cancer and civic causes. |

Percy Martinez has performed many principal roles in Manon Lescaut, Madama Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor, La Boheme, Faust, Idomeneo, The Merry Widow, and partial principal roles in Rigoletto, Aida, Tosca and La Traviata. Recently, he made his New York and East Coast debut in the role of Jason in Milhaud's Medée with Vertical Player Repertory, and his Bronx Opera debut as Don José in that company's Spring 2007 production of Carmen. Mr. Martinez spent the summer of 2005 at the prestigious Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Singer Program, where he sang the role of Anatol in scenes from Barber's Vanessa. Also in 2005, Mr. Martinez was an Apprentice Artist at Sarasota Opera for their Winter Festival, where he covered and sang the role of Federico in Verdi's Stiffelio. Ed Moran, bass. Recently Mr. Moran was seen in Edmonton, Alberta as the Dung Beetle in the World Premier of The Lives of Lesser Things with Opera Nuova in Schools outreach program. In 2008 Mr. Moran made his professional debut with Vancouver Opera in their tour of The Barber of Barkerville. Mr. Moran has also recently performed the roles of Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Dulcamara in L'Elisir d'Amore, and to critical acclaim as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly. Mr. Moran comes from Anchorage, Alaska, where he received a Bachelors of Vocal Performance. In 2008 Mr. Moran graduated from the University of British Columbia School of Music with a Masters Degree in Opera Performance. Mr. Moran enjoys performing everything from opera to art song, to musical theater, and everything in between. Mr. Moran has also enjoyed broadening his stage experience as a cast member with University of Anchorage Alaska's Theater Department and The Character Workshop, an Anchorage based Gilbert and Sullivan touring ensemble. |

Sally Mouzon, mezzo soprano. Ms Mouzon is a native of Virginia, but well known to Bay Area and western regional audiences. Comfortable in many different styles, she has sung leading roles in opera, operetta, musical theatre and zarzuela. Ms. Mouzon made her professional debut at the age of 16 as Cherubino in a Washington, DC production of the Marriage of Figaro. Most recently she appeared as Adalgisa in Norma with California Opera Theatre in Fresno. Other solo roles include Siebel in Faust with Sacramento Opera, Little Buttercup in H.M.S. Pinafore with Eugene Opera, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte with West Bay Opera, Charlotte in Werther with San Francisco Lyric Opera, Cherubino with Townsend Opera Players in Modesto, and Adalgisa with Verismo Opera as well as with San Francisco Lyric Opera. She created the role of Mrs. Carroll in Robert Arnold Hall's Mrs. Carroll's Alice, conducted by Barbara Day Turner. Ms. Mouzon made her solo debut at San Francisco Opera as a Fisherwoman in Peter Grimes. Since then she has appeared in numerous other roles with the Company including most recently the Second Priestess in Iphigénie en Tauride, as well as Marguerite and a Coal Gatherer in Louise, Second Bridesmaid in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Sister Lillianne in the world premiere of Dead Man Walking. |

Mr. Offerle's credits include performances with the Opera Estate and Operafestival di Roma in Italy, Cincinnati Opera, International Chamber Orchestra in Rome, Columbia Symphony, Dayton Opera, Detroit Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, to name a few. He has sung over 30 roles including title roles in Don Giovanni and Don Pasquale, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, and Dr. Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Chester Pidduck, tenor. Since moving to California less than two years ago, Chester has sung three roles with San Francisco Opera, was soloist with San Francisco Symphony in Orff's Carmina Burana, played the role of Tonio in The Daughter of the Regiment with San Francisco Opera a la Carte, and was soloist with the Peninsula Symphony in Reicha's Requiem. In 2010, Chester played the role of Rodolfo in La bohème with Mission City Opera and was tenor soloist with the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra. Chester was featured in an article in the March 2009 issue of Classical Singer magazine. In 2007, Chester sang four roles with Opera Colorado in Denver, including the role of Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore. In 2006 he performed the role of Simon Stimson in the world premier of Rorem's Our Town. Paul Sahuc is recognized for his versatility as performer, pedagogue, and conductor. As a baritone soloist, he has appeared in opera, oratorio, and concerts with such organizations as The Michigan Opera Theatre, The New Orleans Philharmonic and The Minnesota Opera. His discography includes The Royal Swedish Opera recording of Solitär, and Der Rosenkavalier with The Minnesota Opera. As a leading man in musical theatre, he has received acclaim for his portrayals as Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, The Poet in Kismet, and Lancelot in Camelot, among others. As a conductor, he has led performances in many genres, including symphonic, wind, choral, opera and musical theatre. Paul had produced some of the finest emerging vocal talent in the United States. His students are frequent guests of The Metropolitan Opera, The Spoletto Festival, and The Seattle Opera, to name a few. He holds a Master of Music degree in voice performance from The Cincinnati Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in clarinet and voice from The University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Paul's teaching career has included work at several universities and music festivals, and he is in demand as a vocal and choral clinician. Paul is currently a visiting professor of voice at the University of Redlands, and a member of the music and theater faculties at the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Rolando Sanz is a graduate of the Yale University School of Music, where he appeared in Die Zauberflote, L'incoronzione de Poppea and Le nozze di Figaro. Rolando has been a resident artist at the Music Academy of the West under the tutelage of Marilyn Horne and Warren Jones. He also made his Washington, DC debut at Le Prince Charmant in Massenet's Cendrillion. He also performed as Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro with Sarasota Opera. In 2005, Rolando was awarded third place in the Florida Grand Opera/Young Patronesses of the Opera Voice Competition, as well as first place in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the Orange County district. Monica Schober, soprano. Her operatic debut in 2002 was with the Virginia Opera as Siegrune in Die Walküre, where she also covered the roles of Fricka and Sieglinde. She is an accomplished German Lied recitalist and recently performed a Schubert recital at the Mendelsohn Recital Hall in Southern California. Ms. Schober made her European debut in October 2003, singing the "Kyrie gewidmet an die Natur" by Robert Pobitschka, accompanied by the composer in the Haydn Saal at Schloss Esterhazy. She is in great demand as a performer of the lighter Viennese fare. She coaches with Armen Guzelimian in Los Angeles and David Aronson in Vienna. |

Jonathan Smucker, tenor. A native of Zoar, Ohio, tenor Jonathan Smucker recently completed his first season at the Aspen Opera Theater Center, where he was featured as Simon Stimson in the Western US Premiere of Ned Rorem's Our Town. A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he holds a Bachelor and Master of Music, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Voice Performance. In 2010, he appeared as Camille in The Merry Widow for Lamplighters, Gérard in Phillip Glass's Les Enfants Terribles at Oakland Opera Theater, and Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville for San Francisco Opera Guild's Opera a la Carte program, performing in over 30 Bay Area schools. He has sung with Pocket Opera, North Bay Opera, San Francisco Lyric Opera, Cinnabar Theater, and BASOTI, in roles including Tom Rakewell in The Rake's Progress, Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Jupiter in Semele, and the title roles in Bastien und Bastienne, Albert Herring, and Acis and Galatea. Lori Stinson, soprano, is a busy soloist throughout Southern California. She sang with the Angeles Chorale as a soloist in Rossini's Stabat Mater and Beethoven's Missa Solemnis. Her recent operatic roles include Clothilde in Norman and Myrtis in Carlisle Floyd's Cold Sassy Tree with San Diego Opera; and Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte with Opera San Luis Obispo of San Luis Obispo in 2002. On the concert stage she has performed Knoxville, Summer of 1914 by Samuel Barber, The Singing Earth by Elinor Remick Warren, Carmina Burana and Requiem by Guiseppe Verdi, among other works. With Opera Pacific she appeared in a new opera by Armienta, River of Women, and in The Magic Flute. In 2001, she debuted with the Long Beach Opera in Elektra. She has also appeared with the Los Angeles Opera, South Bay Opera, Aspen and Utah Festival Operas. Lee Strawn, baritone, Lee frequently performs leading roles in both opera and musical theatre. For many years, Lee sang the lead role of John Muir in Mountain Days, the John Muir Musical, in Martinez, CA, near Muir's home. He also sings with the San Francisco Opera Chorus. He created the role of LeFevre and went on to play Firmin, two of the Opera House owners in the record-shattering five-year run of The Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco. Other favorite roles include Papageno (The Magic Flute), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd), Cervantes/Don Quixote (Man Of La Mancha), and Capt. Corcoran (H.M.S. Pinafore). Dr. Strawn earned Doctorate and Master's Degrees from the internationally renowned Eastman School of Music in New York. He was also awarded Performer's Certificates in both Voice and Opera from Eastman. He is currently on the faculty of Notre Dame de Namour University in Belmont, California, and of the summer Theatre Training Institute. Kimarie Torre has captivated audiences in her portrayals of Violetta in La Traviata, Marguerite in Faust, the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Norina in Don Pasquale, Mimi in La bohème, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Sivilia, Michaëla and Frasquita in Carmen, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte, Salud in La Vida Breve, and Wanda in The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein with SF Lyric Opera, Opera San José, SF Pocket Opera, Cinnabar Opera, Oakland Lyric Opera, and Portland's Bel Canto Festival. Last fall, she was a featured artist with Opera San Jose as Norina in don Pasquale and Nedda in I Paggliacci. Ms. Torre was a national semi-finalist in last year's Loren Zachary Opera Competition, first prize winner of the East Bay Opera League Competition, and both Bay Area NATS Opera and Art Song Competitions. Last year, she completed work as a featured on-screen singer in the upcoming film Jackson. In addition to her operatic work, Ms. Torre has also been a featured soloist for Handel's Messiah, Bach's Magnificat & St. John''s Passion, Mozart's Mass in C Minor, Fauré's Requiem, and Mendelssohn's Elijah. |

Igor Vieira, baritone. Mr. Vieira made his professional debut in his native Rio de Janeiro at age 17, singing the role of Le Dancaire in Bizet's Carmen. Mr. Vieira has sung many operatic roles with such companies as the Teatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro, The Belem Opera Festival (Brazil), Opera du Villcroze (France), Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Opera Theater of Philadelphia, Teatro Barakaldo (Spain) West Bay Opera, Berkeley Opera, Teatro Sao Pedro (Brazil), Belcantanti Opera and Opera Santa Barbara among them. He was a world finalist of the 1995 Luciano Pavarotti Voice Competition in Philadelphia as well as second place on the East Bay Opera League Voice Competition in 2006 and a semi-finalist of the Cometizione d'Opera in Dresden, Germany in 2008. Mr. Vieira holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, and a Master's Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. |

Melissa Wolfmann has appeared in Aïda, Madama Butterfly, Il Trovatore, La Traviata, Nabucco, Cenerentola, Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, Rigoletto, The Merry Widow, Carmen and Le nozze di Figaro. She has also been a featured solo artist with the Fresno Grand Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Opera Festival di Roma, Fresno Philharmonic, Tulare County Symphony, Townsend Opera Players, California Opera, Nanos Operetta, Czech Embassy and Public Valley Television and has sung backup on live performances with Placido Domingo and Sarah Brightman. Miss Wolfmann was a 2004 semi-finalist in the Vera Scammon International Vocal Competition, a guest competitor at the Boris Christoff International Voice Competition and past award winner in the Fresno Music Club and Mu Phi Epsilon vocal competition. |
